EMC 21 - Summary


A new feature that will be published after every edition, is a short summary, highlighting any new records, interesting stats and other info.

Slovakia participated in the EMC for the first time, and won! Celeste Buckingham did the country proud with ‘Run Run Run’.

Also for the first time in EMC history there was a three way tie for first place between Slovakia, Russia and South Korea. Eventually Slovakia ranked 1st, Russia 2nd and South Korea 3rd, as they received points from 21 countries, 19 countries and 15 countries respectively.

Iceland once again finished in the top 6, setting a record for the most top 10 places in a row.

San Marino gained their best placing since EMC1, finishing 8th.

Mexico reached the top ten for the first time since their debut, finishing 9th with 86 points.

Turkey also re-joined the EMC this edition, qualifying for the final for the first time, finishing in 10th place.

Ireland unfortunately received the wooden spoon for this edition, finishing in last place with 26 points; 18 points behind the Faroe Islands who finished 23rd.
