New format for EMC?? You decide!

The EMC has nearly been running for three editions, and we feel that maybe it is time to change the format to the contest slightly. But the ultimate decision is yours!

We feel that the two best possible options are -

1) Each contest will contain one semi final and a final. The direct finalists will be the top five ranking countries from the previous contest. All other participants will take part in the semi-final, where the top thirteen countries will progress to the final. (Dependant on number of participants. This would only happen if there were more than 25 entries).

2) Stay to the current format, where there is only a final for each contest.

Decide which is your favourite and vote in the poll to the right of your screen. Whichever format wins, will be put in place as from the next contest.

Thank you!

Lead up to EMC 3

In the lead up to EMC 3, we can look at what's been going on over the past few days.

We have great number of participants for this contest, as we welcome three new countries. Liechtenstein, Germany and Australia will all be joining the contest and we wish them the best of luck and a long stay!

We also see the return of Hungary, Norway, Albania, San Marino and the United States.

EMC 3 will also be the last contest where you can enter a song from Eurovision. From EMC 4, the new ruling will be in place where no Eurovision song will be able to enter the contest. (You may enter songs from National Selections though!!). This is due to requests for this change by many players, and also the evident results where the ESC songs are coming in the top few, which can be seen as an unfair advantage.

I hope you all enjoy the contest, and voting will open on Friday 29th!!

New Rule for EMC 4

As from EMC 4, you may not send a song which has been at Eurovision. You may use a song which took part in a National Final. This change of rule has happened due to the obvious affect that the old rule had on the competition, where it was fairly obvious which songs would rank highly.

For EMC 3 the old rule still applies. This change will only take place at the beginning of the 4th EMC.

Thank You

Azerbaijan to host......but no entry?

As you are all aware, Azerbaijan won the very first EMC with "Drip Drop", by Safura. By winning, they automatically won the right to host the second EMC. Unfortunately, no entry has been given in by Azerbaijan, therefore they will not participate in the 2nd contest, however they shall still host it. As the delegation gave no information towards a host city, Baku (as the capital) will be the host.

With just minutes to go before the contests voting opens, the running order for the 2nd EMC in Baku has been announced.
